About Engel & Völkers

Engel & Völkers is a multinational company specialized in the sale of luxury residential and commercial real estate. Over the last fifteen years, it has distinguished itself from other real estate agencies by evolving from a franchise model with small agencies to an organized structure with large teams of professionals, some of which consist of hundreds of people. The company is not limited to real estate brokerage but also strives to provide excellent customer service, a value-added offering that few other companies can provide.

The Challenge

After Rome, Engel & Völkers expanded to Florence and Bologna. In addition to the 500 real estate agents, 70 managers were added who take care of the organizational aspect of the growing business. Some of these managers needed to refresh some leadership concepts that they had learned years ago.

The Solution

Engel & Völkers chose to collaborate with Wibo Leadership Academy for two main reasons:

  1. Intensity and Continuity of the Program: The program starts with six intensive weeks followed by eleven months of continuous training. The goal was to avoid a short-term course that would be easily forgotten over time and instead offer a more lasting learning experience.
  2. Eclectic Approach: Since the target group consisted of junior managers, it was essential to have a program that covered all the main aspects of leadership, rather than focusing on just one area.

The Impact

The most noticeable impact was a change in mindset, particularly among the less experienced managers. From the very first six weeks, improvements were observed in their attitude toward their roles, leading to more effective management in terms of both listening and communication with others. Many managers immediately applied the concepts learned during the Leadership Academy.
